Department of Antioquia. The soldier of the National Army had to be evacuated in an UH-60 helicopter “Angel” of the Colombian Air Force, after losing one of his legs when stepping on an improvised explosive device, in rural area of the municipality of Anorí, Department of Antioquia.
Immediately the crew of the Colombian Air Force reacted at the Air Combat Command No. 5, after being alerted by the National Center of Recovery of Personnel, CNRP in Spanish, to conduct the evacuation as soon as possible.
Medical personnel aboard the aircraft provided primary care to control bleeding, provided oxygen and stabilized the vital signs of the soldier in order to guarantee the life and give him stable at the Pablo Tobón Uribe Hospital in Medellín, where he was received and provides with specialized care.
