Colombia continues to strengthen bilateral ties.
Bogotá D.C. The Minister of Defense, Guillermo Botero, signed with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Colombia, Peter Tibber, a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in defense between the two countries.
The objective of this meeting was to establish a framework instrument to exchange experiences, good practices and carried out activities related to education and training, science and technology, cybersecurity and cyber defense, assistance in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, military medicine, maritime security, humanitarian demining, among others.
The relationship of Colombia and the United Kingdom is historical at a strategic level, since it has been sustained, mainly, with the cooperation that this country has provided to Colombia in the field of intelligence for the fight against organized crime, transnational crime and terrorism.
For more than three years, the United Kingdom has permanently supported Colombia's efforts to build the Defense Sector and the strengthening of institutional transparency, as well as the strengthening strategic ties with NATO.
