In an operation coordinated by units of the National Navy with the National Police, it was possible to capture 21 members of the Organized Armed Group GAO - Clan del Golfo.
The operation, conducted simultaneously in the municipality of Mutatá (Department of Antioquia) and different neighborhoods of Cartagena (Department of Bolívar), was carried out by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Bolívar of the National Navy, and the SIJÍN of the National Police, in the framework of the 'Diamante Plan' against criminal groups.
Alias 'Cabeza' or 'El Profe', head of the “Heroes del Caribe” substructure of the Organized Armed Group GAO - Clan del Golfo', which has its operations and criminal interference in the department of Sucre and some municipalities of the department of Bolivar, perpetrated extortions and selective homicides. They in the same way, formed a network with the capacity to send narcotics to Central America.
The 21 people, including two women who had arrest warrants in force for the crimes of aggravated extortion, conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated homicide, illegal carrying of firearms and carrying narcotics, were put into custody of the First Specialized Prosecutor's Office to Gaulas.
During the operation it was possible to find two fragmentation grenades, ammunition of different caliber, private vehicles, cell phones and cash from these illicit acts. With these captures, this structure that threatens the free development of communities in the departments of Sucre and Bolívar is hit.
