In an operation carried out by units of the Coast Guard of San Andrés, the maritime interdiction of a ship 'Máximo', of Venezuelan flag, was carried out near the sea buoy of the San Andrés channel, with two citizens from Venezuela, who were not related in the sailing papers, who expressed that they were going to Panama in a hidden, in exchange for an amount of money.
When making the inspection to the motor ship, troops found two crew members and six passengers, including the two Venezuelan citizens, without a visa to enter Panama, so the capture of the captain of the boat was made for the alleged crime of migrant trafficking.
During the trip to the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés, the owner of the boat who traveled as passenger, made an economic offering to the men of the National Navy to let the boat pass with all its occupants; so the man, a Colombian person, was arrested for the crime of bribery. In the same way, the boat was seized.
The Venezuelan migrants were put into custody of Migración Colombia. The people captured and the elements were put into custody of the SIJIN of the National Police. They will be presented by the Office of the Prosecutor to a Judge in the Island of San Andrés.
