Huila. The reaction of the soldiers of the High Mountain Battalion N ° 9 of the Ninth Brigade in an articulated work with the Specialized Directorate Against Criminal Organizations, DECOC - Neiva, led to neutralize the consequences that could result from the possible activation of a gas cylinder bomb, abandoned by illegal structures that in the past made criminal operations in this area of the department of Huila.
It is a 40-pound gas cylinder bomb loaded with approximately 20 kilos of explosive Anfo and shrapnel, made of blades, pieces of machete and motorcycle chain, which was in the village Las Brisas on the road that leads to the populated center of El Paraíso, in the municipality of Algeciras, in the department of Huila.
The neutralization operation was possible thanks to information obtained through Military Intelligence, which warned on the presence of strange elements on the side of the road.
Immediately the troops that carry out territorial control in the sector and in a coordinated manner with the Explosives and Demolitions Team, EXDE, after blocking the road, implementing safety protocols and using the trained dogs, confirmed the presence of a powerful explosive device, proceeding to its controlled destruction.
