Cartagena. In a ceremony presided by the captain Camilo Ernesto Segovia Forero, Chief of Staff of the Caribbean Naval Force, departed the dock La Bodeguita of the city of Cartagena the Logistic Support Ship ARC "Golfo de Urabá" to carry out the Development Support Activity number 27, of the Campaign “For the water and for the life in the Alta Guajira".
This is a campaign carried out by the National Navy in coordination with the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute and other State institutions, with the aim of strengthening the partnership ties of the Naval Institution with the populations of Alta Guajira, strengthening the social fabric of the most vulnerable indigenous communities with health services.
The ARC "Golfo de Urabá" will navigated 290 nautical miles along the Caribbean Coast to reach the Alta Guajira, showing the capabilities of this type of ship, carrying on board water and humanitarian aid for the Wayuu families of Punta Espada and Siapana, where 10 doctors and dentists will arrive to collaborate.
In the same way, a joint work will be carried out with the Cartagena Naval Reserve to provide moments of healthy recreation for the little ones, carrying out activities that promote creativity and imagination, thus promoting wellbeing and education for children.

On board, more than two tons of humanitarian aid are donated to the populations visited.
Medical and dental care activities will be carried out.
Inflatable trampolines are used to entertain children with the support of the Cartagena Naval Reserve.
During 26 versions it has benefited more than 34 thousand adults and about 4 thousand children, in the communities of Castilletes, Karasua, Manaure, Puerto Francés, Puerto Ingles, Puerto Lopez, Parajimaru, Punta Espada, Siapana, Topia and Warepa, with about 400 tons of humanitarian aid and more than 533 thousand gallons of drinking water.
