They are 92 new soldiers very well equipped, each with his horse, they arrive to fulfill the commitments acquired with the guild of cattlemen and to patrol the east of the Department.
With a solemn military ceremony that took place in the village Bogotá of the municipality of Arauca and that counted on the company of the educational community, cattle ranchers, and authorities of the departmental and municipal order, Police of Carabineros (mounted police) and the commander of the Task Force Quiron, Colonel Arnunfo Traslaviña Sáchica and the Commander of the Eighteenth Brigade, Colonel José Luis Agudelo Jaimes, gave to the community three fundamental units, who will patrol day and night by the savannas of the department of Arauca.
These Soldiers of the Bicentenary, who are part of the Artillery Battalion No.18 'General José María Mantilla', of the Eighteenth Brigade, were trained for 40 days by the Riding School of the National Army, making them capable to attend situations of emergency and combat criminal groups, thus protecting the good physical condition of the population, the national sovereignty and the regional economy.
During the event, equestrian demonstrations were carried out to show the skills of each of the riders, which generated in the assistants security of the training received in each of these brave soldiers, as well as admiration and respect for the operation conducted by the soldiers of the homeland.
In this way, at any time of the year, regardless of the inclement weather, in each of their horses, these brave soldiers will reach the places with the most difficult terrain to continue fulfilling their constitutional duty
