In Cúcuta, in the department of Norte de Santander, public and private institutions and schools participated in the march against the recruitment of minors.
The Support Command of Comprehensive Action and Development through its Comprehensive Action Brigade No.1 and the program Fe in Colombia, participated in the march organized by the Reincorporation and Standardization Agency (ARN) to commemorate the International Day of No Recruitment of Girls, Boys and Youth.
The meeting took place in the Santander Park of the center of the city of Cúcuta at 8:00 a.m., where students from more than 35 schools in the municipality and two schools of Catatumbo joined this symbolic march with posters and white balloons.
Accompanied by the Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta, the Governorate of Norte de Santander, the Municipal Mayor's Office, the National Army, the program Faith in Colombia, the Red Cross, private companies, among other institutions, the General Director of the ARN in Spanish highlighted the importance of these peaceful citizen demonstrations of the inhabitants of Norte de Santander and Colombians to show they want to live in an equitable country with opportunities.
"Our children are the future, they are the treasure of our country. In Cúcuta we say NO to the recruitment of children. The ARN and the Governorate of Norte de Santander must generate places for culture and sports, recreation and education to protect the lives of our children," said André Stapper, general director of the ARN.
