The event that is part of the commemoration of the country's Bicentenary was held at the Colombian Academy of History.
The Presidential Guard Battalion of the 13th Brigade of the National Army was in charge of the welcome and honors to the Vice President of the Republic Martha Lucía Ramírez, who presided over the event commemorating the New Granada martyrs who died from 1815 to 1819 during the Spanish Reconquista; she was accompanied by the military commanders and the Culture Minister Carmen Inés Vásquez.
On the occasion of this great event the soldiers of the Presidential Guard Battalion held a military parade to accompany the commanders who payed homage to the Neo-Granadian martyrs. In the same way the the Guard of Honour welcomed them, while the unit's military musicians sang the National Anthem and performed the minute of silence along with other military marches.
In 2019 the Bicentenary Heroes of the National Army will participate actively in the activities that commemorate the Bicentennial of Colombia.
