With a big smile of satisfaction for the duty fulfilled, 54 young men from all corners of the Colombian geography, successfully completed their military service aboard National Navy units, in the department of Arauca.
The rays of the dawn on the Arauca river, adorned the solemn ceremony presided over by the lieutenant colonel of Marine Infantry Custodio García Díaz, Commander of the Infantry Battalion No.52, who gave a message of gratitude and recognition for the operation made by these young people and their families. During the ceremony, the now reservists, who will return to their houses safe and sound in the coming days, received the blessing of the deacon Luciano Montenegro Bernal.
During 18 months these young people demonstrated their vocation, dedication, commitment and bravery protecting the blue color of the flag in the 302 kilometers of the Arauca River, guaranteeing security, good physical condition, defense and national sovereignty; providing wellbeing and development to local populations and safeguarding human life in this important international tributary.
The vibration of the letters of the Patriotic Prayer recited for the last time on board the ranks, by these heroes at the service of the Nation, was followed by the notes of the National Anthem with a deep love for Colombia, in the hearts of all Officers, NCOs, Navy infantry men and special guests, who were present during the ceremony.
The National Navy thanks these young people for their service to the Homeland and wishes them personal and professional success now that they return to civil life, as good men, strengthened in their principles and values, by the training received on board the naval institution.
