So far this year, this Military Unit has achieved 11 arrests, destabilizing this criminal structure that commits crimes in the Department.
In recent hours, the National Army managed to deal a resounding blow to the criminal organization Gao Residual Structure “Primera” with the recovery of a minor of age and the captures of two of its members; one of them the second leader and trusted man of alias Pesacado commander of the criminal organization that commit crimes in the department of Arauca.
Through territorial control operations, troops of the Eighteenth Brigade arrived in the Maporal village of the capital city, achieving the recovery of a 13-year-old boy who was part of one of alias Pescado's security groups, who illegally recruited minors for his criminal purposes. The minor was disengaged and put under the protection of the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing ICBF that will be in charge of the restoration of his rights.
The detainees are alias “Sandino”, base guerrilla, and alias “Juan David” second in command of the Residual GAO, who at his 21 years of age counts more than two years in the organization, and was responsible for the illicit recruitment of minors, collection of money from extortions to merchants, ranchers and transporters in the villages Maporal, Bocas del Ele, Agua Linda, La Conquista and Brisas del Ele, bordering areas of the municipalities of Arauca and it capital city Arauquita.
During the military procedure, four communication elements, a 22 mm caliber shotgun, two 60 mm grenades, 179 9 mm cartridges, seven books of doctrine of the extinct guerrilla group Farc, 16 units of military equipment, military accessories and material for the exclusive use of the military forces, as well as 60 kilos of provisions and a significant number of cleaning elements.
In the first 86 days of the year, the National Army in this zone of the country has made 59 captures: 47 of them members of the ELN and 11 members of the GAO-Residual First Structure; in the same way, 8 demobilized combatants (5 and 3 respectively). These results are considered heavy blows against the criminal structures that commit crimes in the region.
