Thanks to intelligence work, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) – Huila, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office caught in flagrante delicto an individual when he received three million pesos, result of extortion payments. At the time of the capture troops found weapons and communications equipment.
The event occurred in the village El Recreo, rural area of Gigante - Huila. Robinson Andrés Pardo Quintero was caught in flagrante delicto by the authorities. According to the denunciation, the extortion has been taking place since last February 21.
The victim, a local transporter of the municipality of Gigante, reported that in February two individuals arrived in his farm identifying themselves as members of an armed group, demanding ten million pesos, otherwise, his live or the lives of his relatives would be in danger. As of that moment and before the refusal of the victim, the extortions continued via telephone.
During the anti-extortion operation, two cell phones were found by troops, along with four simcards, one shotgun, two cartridges for a 12 mm shotgun, a knife, an olive-green fabric and a black balaclava.
The Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) invites citizens to report in a timely manner this type of criminal behavior that attacks against the physical condition of people and their assets in the line 147 and join the campaign, “I Do not Pay, I Denounce.”
