With the purpose of contributing to the social development in in the department of Antioquia, Military Engineers of the National Army presented a vehicular bridge benefiting more than 200 inhabitants of La Maporita.
Bicentenary Heroes of the National Army belonging to the Battalion of Engineers No.17, 'General Carlos Bejarano Muñoz', a unit attached to the Brigade No.17 made the presentation and the opening act of the bridge built in this area, which will communicate its inhabitants with different municipalities of the Urabá region, in the department of Antioquia.
With this work, the Military Engineers benefit more than 200 people from this area and surrounding areas, contributing to their social and economic development and mobility. The inhabitants will move to schools, workplaces and it will facilitate the commercialization of their products, mainly agricultural, to other municipalities.
The act presided by community leaders of Maporita, was attended by the commander of the Brigade 17 Colonel Carlos Alberto Padilla, the commander of the Battalion of Engineers No.17 'General Carlos Bejarano Muñoz', Lieutenant Colonel Fredy Alexander Ospina Gómez, soldiers who worked on the project and the inhabitants, who showed their gratitude to these Bicentenary Heroes through messages and words of encouragement to continue this important work.
For his part, the commander of the Brigade 17, Colonel Carlos Padilla, said that the works will continue in sectors such as Murindó, in the department of Chocó, Necoclí, in the department of Antioquia and in the different municipalities of the region.
