In compliance with the military and police campaign 'Esparta', in the permanent National Operation Against Crime, and the Security and Defense Policy led by the President of the Republic, alias 'Kiko', presumed member of the residual GAO 33, was captured.
In the municipality of Tibú, in operations conducted by the criminal investigation section, police intelligence and Task Force 'Vulcano' of the National Army in order to capture the person responsible for the damage to the security cameras of the municipality on March 11 and 16 of this year, the units arrived at a commercial establishment to materialize the capture of 'Kiko', accused of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms and ammunition, as well as being the perpetrator of the activation of explosive devices, against power poles where security cameras had been installed by the National Police in Tibú.
According to the investigations, this person would be an escort and a man of confidence of a person known in the criminal world as 'Diablo', alleged ringleader of the GAO residual 33, in Tibú. In the operation it was in the same way possible to find a pistol, six 7.65 mm caliber cartridges, a fragmentation grenade and 5 million pesos in cash.
This capture hits the structural component of the residual GAO 33, which would be committing crimes in Tibú, Norte de Santander, and would be responsible for perpetrating terrorist activities against the Security forces, the civilian population, threats and extortion in this jurisdiction. The capture was put into custody of to the authorities of Cúcuta, where the respective judicialization is carried out.
