From 7:00 a.m., inhabitants of Istmina attended massively on the first day of the development support activity that was carried out in the framework of the project “Chocó con Amor”.
This activity took place thanks to the coordinated work of institutions such as the National Army headed by the Support Command of Comprehensive Action and Development, the municipal mayor's office through the Health secretary, the “Manitas de Amor” Foundation, the Bakongo organization, Backpackers for Colombia and the Civil Defense, institutions that came together to provide medical services during the first day.
It should be noted that with this operation, it was possible to provide services in general medicine, pediatrics, nutrition, dentistry, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, psychology, phonoaudiology, nursing and growth and development. In the same way, children participated in recreation activities and 120 food baskets and 600 presents were distributed during the event.
"I am very grateful to the Army for the support they have given my children and my family," said Devinson Lermas, beneficiary of the activity.
Lieutenant Colonel Augusto Vera Rojas, officer of Comprehensive Action of the Joint Task Force Titan, said: "We are today in the municipality of Istmina in the launch of the campaign “Chocó with Love”, which seeks to coordinate efforts of the local government, the private companies, non-profit institutions and the National Army, thus seeking the good coexistence of the inhabitants of the region. We served 3000 people in the activity, which shows the effort and interest that all these institutions have in providing good service and collaborate for the inhabitants of Chocó".
