In military operations that are carried out permanently by the Navy of Colombia against the transnational organizations that perpetrate drug trafficking, which commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean, troops found 150.2 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride floating near of Tortuguilla Island, northeast of the Gulf of Urabá.
During a maritime control patrol carried out by a Rapid Reaction Unit of the Urabá Coastguard Station, with the support of a surface ship of the Navy of Colombia, six floating sacks were found, containing 150 packages; they were secured insured by an anchor, simulating a conventional rudimentary fishing arrangement.
The substance was carried to the Coast Guard Station of Urabá in Turbo - Antioquia, where the judicial authorities carried out the Preliminary Identification of 150.2 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
It is estimated that the price of this shipment of narcotics, in the international black market, is more than five million dollars, a figure that thanks to this successful operation will not enter the finances of illegal groups.
The material was put into custody of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, in Turbo - Antioquia.
