Troops of the Quiron Task Force in the department of Arauca rescue, in record time, two citizens who had been kidnapped by members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Residual Structure Primera, last April 29.
The effective military operation occurred in the municipality area of Fortul after attending the call of the community that revealed important details to find the place where the victims could be. At the time of the kidnapping, they were driving a van-like vehicle which was stolen.
The truck, belonging to a private company that covered the route Bogotá – Saravena, would have been used by organized armed groups for terrorist purposes directly against the civilian population and the Military Forces in this area of the country.
The Units of the Eighteenth Brigade after the planning of the military operation in a short time and the coordinated execution with the National Police, arrived in a hotel where the hostages remained. The kidnappers demanded a huge amount of money to the relatives of the victims and the owners of the transport company.
