Troops of the National Army, in military operations, captured alias 'El Sobrino' and recovered a minor of age, in the hamlet la Libertad, in the municipality of Convencion, in the department of Norte de Santander.
According to intelligence work, aka 'El Sobrino' is accused of being responsible for carrying out extortion and kidnappings to merchants in the area. As well as installing antipersonnel mines in the villages La Trinidad, La Libertad, Honduras, San Juancito, La Fria, Santa Ines, La Bogotana and Playa Rica, in the municipalities El Carmen and Convencion.
At the time of his capture he was found with four rifles, one with a high precision sight that is commonly used by snipers to hit personnel of the Security forces, a shotgun, three submachine guns, one of rudimentary manufacture, two pistols, 18 magazines, 400 cartridges of different calibers, 26 rudimentary copper bullets, 20 electric detonators, 27 electric detonators, two detonators ready to explode, nine improvised explosive devices type antipersonnel mines and 19 pipe type, and an improvised manufacturing ammunition.
In the place troops found communication material, two laptops, nine batteries, 21 books of indoctrination, a poster allusive to the criminal organization, a bracelet with the name of the ELN and military accessories.
The captured was transferred to the city of Cúcuta where he was formally accused for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of weapons of exclusive use of the Military Forces and or explosives, and illegal carrying of firearms.
In the same way, the recovered minor of age was handed over to the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, ICBF, in order to restore his rights.
This year the Vulcano Task Force has captured 15 members of the GAO Eln, five of the GAO 'Los Pelusos' and eight individuals of the common criminality. In addition, 310 kilograms of explosive material, 25 methods of launching, 76 explosive devices and 2248 cartridges have been found by the different military units.
