In the village El Dave, in the department of Norte de Santander, an assistance and counseling Center was built for the vulnerable population and for the victims of the conflict in the border area, which would benefit some 800 people per month.
Around 800 people a month will have access to the benefits that, starting in May, began to provide the assistance and counseling Center for the vulnerable population and victims of the conflict in the border area. It is an infrastructure that was executed in coordination with the Governorate of Norte de Santander, the Mayor of Puerto Santander, Colombia Transforma and the National Army through the Mechanized Cavalry Group 'General Hermógenes Maza' and the program Faith in Colombia.
The building was built in a terrain where formerly was located the Military Base No.57. It will have capacity to accommodate 150 people per day. Approximately, it has a perimeter of 120 square meters, it has an office for administration, a kitchen, toilets and showers for ladies and for gentlemen and a space for laundry and a space for cleaning items.
In addition, it will provide constant benefits to the inhabitants of the village El Dave, since it has a communal room for cultural activities, training and community meetings.
"I am very excited because it is more than I expected, because we needed to have urgently the service of institutions such as the national registry for documents. On the side of the community we are happy because we, the presidents of boards, already have where to meet. We are a great team," said Carmen Ibarra, president of the Community action Board of El Dave.
Within the framework of the inauguration of this assistance and counseling Center, a Services Fair was held where institutions such as the National registry, Solidarity Organizations, Border and International Cooperation Secretariats, Social Prosperity, Corponor, among other institutions were at the place and proposed to provide constant accompaniment to the population of Norte de Santander.
