Joint, coordinated and inter-institutional operations against drug trafficking organizations and organized armed groups that serve drug trade in the Colombian Pacific led to the discovery of four laboratories of cocaine hydrochloride, the discovery of weapons, large amount of solid precursors, liquid precursors, as well as the capture of three individuals.
The operation was carried out simultaneously in the municipalities of Guapi and Timbiquí, by the Brigade Against Narcotics trafficking of the National Army, the Marine Infantry Brigade No.2, attached to the Naval Force of the Pacific of the Navy of Colombia, the Air Combat Command No.7 of the Colombian Air Force, the Sijin of the National Police in Guapi and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation.
The intelligence of the Navy of Colombia guided the military personnel to the laboratories where 1,167 gallons of liquid precursors, 1,884 kilograms of solid precursors, three rifles, three short range weapons, 11 launching pads for explosive devices, 126 cartridges of different calibers were found, along with the boat 'Niña Mauren', 24 meters long, with an outboard motor of 200 hp, among other elements and communications equipment.
During the operations, three individuals were captured, two of them for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. The other individual was identified as alias 'El Mago', member of a residual organized armed group, who had an arrest warrant, for the crime of homicide. The individuals were put into custody of the authorities.
With this operation, it was possible hit drug trafficking organizations by 500 million pesos.
