The individuals carried out robberies and intimidations in the sector; in addition troops seized weapons and other objects were recovered.
In the framework of Operation Horus de la Libertad, troops of the Galán Battalion of the Fifth Brigade, of the Second Division of the National Army in coordination with the National Police, capture five individuals in the sector El Páramo del Almorzadero, in Cerrito, in the department of Santander, who apparently would be part of the criminal group 'Los Carboneros', who perpetrated thefts against drivers who travel by the road Troncal del Norte.
Apparently, the individuals had been intimidating the community of the sector since 2016 and at the time of their capture troops found four firearms, as well as cell phones, money and jewelry valued at nearly seven million 200 thousand pesos.
Those individuals were put into custody of the SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) of Malaga, in the department of Santander and must face charges for conspiracy to commit a crime, theft, trafficking, fabrication or illegal possession of weapons and attempted murder for injuring with a firearm one of their victims during a theft attempt.
