The Commander of the Mexican Army, Major General Celestino Ávila Astudillo, accompanied by a military delegation from that country, visited the facilities of the Tolemaida Military Fort to observe the activities of the Colombian National Army and exchange experiences.
Major General Juan Carlos Correa Consuegra, inspector general of the National Army, led the honors given to the delegation of the Mexican Army, then the tour by the Military Fort began.
At the National Training Center (CENAE), the international delegation received a complete explanation about the mission of this unit and its importance in the training of Colombian troops who work daily for the tranquility of the inhabitants. Through stands the different resources of the training schools were shown.
In the same way, they observed the work of the non-commissioned officers leading instructor (SIL), men with great professional capacity, spirit of sacrifice and discipline who do their best to train and perfect the skills of the soldiers.
Immediately, the international delegation saw an exhibition on disaster relief, as well as humanitarian demining, highlighting the operation of those who risk their lives, opening paths of peace and development in the different regions of the country.
Finally, the high-level visit had the opportunity to see a demonstration of Resources in the Aviation and Air Assault Division (DAVAA), and thus culminated its visit to the Tolemaida Military Fort, strengthening the ties of partnership and cooperation of both armies, supporting the optimization of tactics, techniques and procedures, with the analysis of lessons from the past.
