At the Unified Command Post at the Vanguardia airport in Villavicencio, Meta, rescue authorities, Civil Aeronautics and the Colombian Air Force, led by General Luis Carlos Córdoba, Commander of the Air Military Institution and Mr. Sergio París Mendoza, Director of the Aerocivil, explained to the relatives of the occupants of the HK2803 aircraft, lost in the border area between Guaviare and Caquetá, all the efforts that the institutions have made to work to find their loved ones.
At the meeting, the different search missions were explained, in which various airplanes and helicopters of the Colombian Air Force, as well as of the Army, have participated, in order to reach the places of difficult access and have a more precise vision, as well as to increase the size of the area in which personnel of relief agencies such as the Civil Defense, Red Cross, military of the Joint Special Operations Command (CCOES), Yopal Volunteer Firemen Brigade and indigenous people of the area belonging to the National Organization of the Indigenous Peoples of the Colombian Amazon (OPIAC) are searching by land.
After the presentation, in which the representatives of the different institutions demonstrated all the activities that have been carried out since the first day the aircraft was declared lost, the relatives and indigenous representatives recognized the effort made so far, however, they expressed their concerns as time passed without having the expected results.
