In the framework of the Plan “Christmas Diamante”, troops of the Thirtieth Brigade neutralize an attack that was planned to be committed on the northern main road.
The terrorist plans were thwarted when troops of the Infantry Battalion No. 13 'General Custodio García Rovira', found in the village known as Presidente, in Chitaga municipality, five weaponized gas cylinders that had been planted at the base of the Camagueta bridge, which would be activated with the purpose of leaving the Norte de Santander department isolated of the rest of the country.
Apparently, the explosive charges of 60 and 100 pounds would belong to the Organized Armed Group Eln, structure “Efraín Pabón Pabón”, who commit crimes in this area of the department.
Once the security protocols were organized, the team formed by the men of Explosives and Demolitions of the National Army destroy these devices under controlled conditions, maintaining mobility and preventing the terrorist attack against the civilian population.
