A 37-year-old man from an indigenous community in the department of Vaupés was evacuated in an immediate reaction of the Colombian Air Force from Mitú to Villavicencio, because he was in serious risk of losing his leg after receiving a snake bite.
It was six hours of helicopter flight operating with night vision and very low lunar illumination, which led to the crew of the UH-60 Black Hawk 'Angel' and the medical team of the Colombian Air Force to save the life of this man, who in the same way had grade III edema, which caused bleeding and intense pain, extending from, the gluteus to the toes of the left foot.
Operations were coordinated at the National Personnel Recovery Center, CNRP, with the Air Component of the Joint Task Force Omega, to deploy the helicopter 'Angel', which flew from La Macarena, in the department of Meta, to the Far East of Colombia to pick the man up and assist him in his critical condition, because he did not respond to the anti-venom serum injected initially in the place.
