In the framework of the Unified operation of the State, in a joint operation with the Military Elite Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) No. 1 and coordinated with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police and the Navy of Colombia, it was possible to capture 16 members of the Organized Armed Group, Clan del Golfo, in the department of Bolívar.
The operation was carried out simultaneously in the municipalities of Magangué and El Carmen de Bolívar, where units of the Militay Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in Bolívar arrived and captured these 16 people, including a woman.
This decisive blow, given to this criminal structure, which had been intimidating and extorting the money of the people, through telephone calls, reduces the criminal actions of the group and impacts the finances of these armed groups, preventing them from getting around 130 million of pesos, product of extortion.
Those captured were placed at the put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office No 1 Especalizada de Cartagena, where they were put in prison for the crimes of aggravated conspiracy and aggravated extortion.
