Strategic bomber aircraft of the United States train with Air Combat units of the Colombian Air Force
As part of the Air Combat Exercise ‘Relámpago 4’ that takes place in our country, the Colombian Air Force conducted training maneuvers with two aircraft B-52 of the United States Air Force, strengthening capabilities and operations standards with these aircraft of global reach.
Through the restricted airspace of the Palanquero base, five aircraft of air superiority Kfir, simulated a defense mission to face the attack on a strategic target, interoperating with the USAF bombers in an effective way.
The aircraft, that have a range of 14,162 km, flying without needing to land, or supply fuel and can carry up to 32 tons of weapons, flew from the United States and in the Colombian airspace carried out the training, ending with a pass over the airport José María Córdova, in Rionegro in homage to the 100 years of the Colombian Air Force.
The first mission of Exercise 'Relampago 4' was completed in four F-16 aircraft of the National Air Guard of South Carolina, whose crews are already in Colombia and from July 15 to 18, will in the same way participate in different missions of training in simulated air combat cases, strengthening together with the Colombian Air Force, the capabilities, standards and interoperability protocols under NATO standards.
