The delinquents made transit through the capital of the country to carry out their extortions that lead them to finance the criminal operations of this Organized Armed Group.
Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Cundinamarca of the Brigade 13 with support of the Technical Investigation corps of the Prosecutor's Office, through intelligence work and judicial processes, which was carried out during months of investigation and monitoring, found four members of the finance component of the GAO - Clan del Golfo in Bogotá; they were responsible for extorting money of merchants and entrepreneurs in the department of Cundinamarca and the city of Bogotá.
The extortionists intimidated their victims, even threatening to kill those who refused to pay the extortions, through economic demands ranging from one million to 150 million pesos per month. These four individuals will have to face charges of aggravated extortion and conspiracy to commit a crime.
The 13th Brigade reiterates its commitment to neutralize any operation that seeks to hit security in the center of the country, either by criminal groups or groups outlaw that make transit in the capital city. In the same way, it also invites citizens to denounce any irregular operation in the line 147 of the Gaula of the National Army.
