In the framework of the Military and Police Campaign “Atlas”, and the Building Safety Plan, was captured Yeison Cortes, alias 'Chuky', ringleader of the Palo Seco group of the Residual Organized Armed Group, Oliver Sinisterra, in rural of the municipality of Tumaco, in the department of Nariño.
The man, in 2017, was part of the security group of alias “Guacho”, former ringleader of the Residual Organized Armed Group Oliver Sinisterra, who was neutralized on December 21, 2018. He was his trusted man and right hand in the execution of terrorist operations against the Security forces and the civilian population.
In March 2018, he would have been in charge of receiving the Ecuadorian newspaper team of the newspaper El Comercio, who were kidnapped and subsequently killed in the border area with Ecuador.
In April 2018, he would have participated in the murder of Oscar Efrén Villacís Gómez and Katty Vanesa Velasco Pinargote, a couple of Ecuadorian merchants, kidnapped when they were traveling through the border province of Esmeraldas.
The capture was carried out in the Palo Seco village, by the Special Command of the South Pacific Police, the Hercules Joint Task Force, the Colombian Navy and the Attorney General's Office, in the Renacer VII operation.
Alias ‘Chuky’, had a current arrest warrant for conspiracy to commit crimes, homicide and kidnapping, issued by the Third Municipal Criminal Court of Tumaco.
