The Amphibious Disembarkation Ship ARC “Bahía Málaga” sailed of the main pier of the Naval Base ARC “Málaga” to participate in the multinational exercise of amphibious operations SOLIDAREX in its version of 2019, in which the countries of Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama and Colombia will participate.
47 men of the Colombian Navy, under the command of Captain Julián Cuartas, will participate in these exercises that will take place from October 21 to November 1, and seek to implement plans, procedures, protocols and interoperability to be conducted by Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico, in case of being necessary to provide humanitarian assistance and disasters assistance, in case of emergency situations, which will be simulated as part of the SOLIDAREX 2019 training.
With Navy infantry and Naval Aviation Units, two phases of the operation will be carried out; starting in Ecuador, in the city and fishing port Jaramijó and culminating in the municipality of Juanchaco, north of Bahía Málaga, in the Colombian Pacific.
In this way, the men and women who protect the blue color of the flag have demonstrated their capabilities in the different operations environments.
