In a joint, coordinated and interagency operation, the Colombian Navy achieved the discovery of more than a ton of narcotics, the capture of three individuals and the confiscation of war material belonging to the Organized Armed Group E-30, in the municipality of Puerto Merizalde, rural area of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
The deployment of the Military Forces in the Colombian Pacific, along with the heavy operation carried out against the residual Organized Armed Groups, led the troops of the Pacific Naval Force, the National Army, the Colombian Air Force and the Judicial Police, with a judicial order issued by the Prosecutor's Office 90 Specialized Against Crime in Cali, to carry out the search of four houses on the riverside, which according to military intelligence information were being used as a center for illegal collection of narcotics and war material, by residual Organized Armed Groups.
During the searches, the troops found in one of the houses 42 bags and two suitcases, which stored 1,323 pressed packages that according to physical characteristics would correspond to illicit substances. In the same way, they discovered four rifles.
In the second house, the military units surprised three individuals who had three guns, a revolver and a shotgun.
The drug, the armament and the three men were mobilized to the facilities of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2 of the Colombian Navy, where the Preliminary Initial Test was carried out, which left a positive result for hydrochloride of Cocaine in 1,290 packages and for marijuana in 33 packages.
The three individuals were captured and put into custody of the Special Prosecutor's Office 90 Against Crime in Cali, where they are being prosecuted.
This important blow to the criminal structure of the Residual organized Armed Group E-30 is the result of coordinated work conducted by the Joint Command No.3 Suroriente, the Units of the Naval Force of the Pacific and the Special Prosecutor's Office 90 Against Crime, which have been hitting the residual Organized Armed Groups and the Organized Criminal Groups in Cauca and Valle del Cauca.
