As an institution that guarantees the rights of the community, the Colombian Navy provides support to the Lands Restitution Unit in several municipalities in the department of Bolívar and Sucre.
Since 2012, the Colombian Navy, through the Tactical Units of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.1, has made a total of 3,242 accompaniments to the Land Restitution Unit, in charge of legal procedures to restore and formalize the lands in favor of the victims of the armed conflict. This significant operation has been carried out during these nine years in 19 municipalities of Bolívar and in 8 municipalities of the department of Sucre.
Thanks to the work carried out by the Colombian Navy in permanent accompaniment, about 17,000 hectares have been restored, benefiting more than 1,050 families in both departments. Thus, about 3,000 people have received benefits of the State through the Unified action of the authorities.
The Colombian Navy carries out these accompaniments in fulfillment of its constitutional mission to protect civilians, their assets and the resources of the State, generating adequate security conditions for the implementation of Law 1448 of 2011, Victims Law and Land Restitution
