This operation, which complements the surveillance and control activities that have been implemented in the municipality, seeks to encourage citizens to follow the recommendations of the National Government and thus prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, which was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11.
While the soldiers and the local mayor's office distributed food aid, loudspeakers activities were carried out through the streets of the different neighborhoods with practical recommendations such as proper hand washing, the use of disposable handkerchiefs and face masks, the importance of preventing crowds and the preventive isolation.
The Institution has attended the measures with the objective of preserving the security and good physical condition of all Colombians and has put into custody of the community the necessary personnel to face the emergency. On this occasion, our heroes went to the streets and, in support of civil authority, they have reached the door of the houses the most hit by the contingency.
During this world emergency, the National Army has put its capabilities at the service of Colombians and continues to motivate them to join the preventive measures and win the battle against this pandemic all together.
