The Colombian Navy, in coordination with the "Sueños por Colombia" Foundation, established in the city of Medellín, distributed more than 250 meat-derived food kits to supply the most vulnerable families in Cartagena.
The frozen products were transported from the department of Antioquia and stored in cold rooms of the Ship ARC Victoria, attached to the Caribbean Naval Force, to the city of Cartagena.
The distribution of the products donated by the Foundation, based in Antioquia, were distributed in the neighborhoods of Bellavista, Cartagenita, the insular area of Tierra Bomba and the municipality of El Bijaito, with the support of the Mayor's Office, for the timely distribution to the most vulnerable during Mandatory Preventive Isolation.
The Caribbean Naval Force has used all its logistical and human capacities to support security, transportation, accompaniment and distribution of humanitarian aid which has been possible thanks to the coordinated and supportive work of the public and private sectors in the face of the emergency.
In compliance with the San Roque operation, the Colombian Navy will continue to strengthen cooperation and coordination with the public and private sectors, in order to contribute to the well-being of the Caribbean communities, while inviting citizens to continue implementing the measures to contain the spread of Covid-19.
