Soldiers of the National Army arrived at the El Codito sector, in the municipality of Usaquén, in Bogotá, to provide aid to vulnerable communities in the sector by the distribution of 280 food baskets.
El Codito is a sector of Bogotá, with neighborhoods of levels 1 and 2 (vulnerable), where the most relevant problems turn around the lack of opportunities for young people and the quality of employment that they manage to access. For this reason, they have been seriously hit since the first announcement of the mandatory quarantine in the country.
The National Army and the El Nogal foundation, framed in the tasks of Defense Support to the Civil Authority, joined forces to bring 280 food baskets to low-income families in the neighborhoods of Loma 1 and La Capilla, as support in these difficult times.
For her part, Mrs Gladys Bohórquez López, a resident of La Capilla, said: “I want to thank you for the help you brought us because this is a neighborhood that is very far away and the truth is that not much help has come to us. I am very grateful, God bless you and thank you very much."
