The member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN, died in the operation. He would be the fifth ringleader of the José María Becerra front of the group.
The military operation was carried out in the municipality known as San Juan de Micay, in Los Cedros district, municipality of El Tambo, in the department of Cauca, where troops of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 4 of the Specific Command of Cauca, carried out a military operation and engaged heavy firefights with members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN of the José María Becerra front. There they captured alias Jey; another man was wounded, but later he died.
Combat nurses, within the framework of human rights and international humanitarian law, gave the wounded man first aid. The man died before arriving at a medical center. Apparently, he would be alias Pingüiñoño, fifth ringleader of this GAO.
During the operation, abundant war material, military garments and explosives were seized, including long range weapons, grenade launchers, magazines and ammunition for them, as well as hand grenades, antipersonnel mines, electronic detonators and campaign equipment.
These members of the GAO ELN and the war material were put into custody of the authorities to carry out the urgent acts and the corresponding judicial process.
