In logistics trucks of the Colombian Navy, more than 15 tons of agricultural products were transported to the city of Cartagena, donated by peasant communities of the High Mountain - Montes de María subregion, for the inhabitants of the Heroic city and Bolívar, it is a humanitarian gesture given in support of the national contingency by Covid-19.
The inter-institutional work conducted by the Colombian Navy, the Bolívar Governorate, the Cartagena Mayor's Office and the support of the city's Archdiocese was essential in the distribution of these tons of food products, including avocado, mango, yam, yucca, among others, that will contribute to supplying the most vulnerable inhabitants of the capital city of Bolivar.
The arrival of humanitarian aid to the city occurred thanks to the logistical support of trucks of the navy Infantry Mobility Battalion No. 1, which reached the municipalities and villages of Centro Alegre, La Cañada, Lázaro, Limón, Macayepo and La Pita in the High Mountain of the municipality of El Carmen de Bolívar, in order to support the farmers of this region with the transport of these tons of food to the city of Cartagena.
In Cartagena, the humanitarian aid was distributed at the main dock of the ARC Bolívar Naval Base, accompanied by Vice Admiral Andrés Vásquez Villegas, Commander of the Caribbean Naval Force, Mr. Vicente Blel Scaff, Governor of Bolívar, the ecclesiastical, civil and military authorities of the city and social leaders of Montes de María region.
