From early hours, soldiers and peasants carry out the logistics for sending food to Bogotá in a truck loaded with traditional products from the countryside.
Troops of the Support and Services Battalion for Combat No.13 and the National Army's Comprehensive Action and Development Command complement an alliance with the Ministry of Labor, the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, the Rio Negro Women's Agricultural Association, ASOAMUR, among other organizations in the central area of the country, to implement the strategy of mobile peasant food markets, this time of the municipality of Zipaquirá, in Cundinamarca, as a mechanism to mitigate the impact of shortages caused by social isolation.
From early hours, the soldiers support the logistics for the movement and organization of different products such as vegetables, fruits, eggs, cheeses, among others, in order to pack them and put them on a National Army truck bound for Bogotá. Later the food is organized in an open space where hundreds of citizens go to buy traditional, nutritious, fresh and varied farm products.
Mobile peasant food markets are a strategy that positions the peasant economy in the urban sector and it is supported by State institutions, connecting the small rural producer with the urban buyer, eliminating intermediation, in order to provide a good service to rural and urban people during quarantine.
With discipline, professionalism and cohesion, the National Army through the 13th Brigade, reiterates its unconditional support with the peasant leaders, using viable strategies for the commercialization of their plantations and contributing to the food security of the citizens.
