In coordination with the National Personnel Recovery Center, CNRP, and the Military Transport Air Command, CATAM, a Cassa-295 of the Colombian Air Force, suitable as a hospital plane, carried out the transfer of seven patients diagnosed with covid-19, from Leticia, Amazonas, to Bogotá DC
To carry out this mission, the Colombian Air Force internally adapted the aircraft, dividing it into two zones, isolating patients of the flight crew, in order to prevent the risk of contagion that a mission like these entails.
During the aeromedical transfer that departed the Amazon Air Group (GAAMA), the patients were individually connected to intensive care units and were monitored by highly trained military medical personnel for this operation.
