It is an effective result of the anti-kidnapping and anti-extortion campaign: "I don't pay, I denounce."
In an interagency operation carried out by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Colombian Navy and the Investigative Technical Corps of the Prosecutor's Office, a person was flagrantly captured for the crime of intimate extortion, in events that occurred in the municipality of Corozal, department of Sucre.
The capture was possible thanks to the denunciation posed by a woman with the authorities, who claimed being a victim of the crime of intimate extortion.
This denunciation was key for the investigators to analyze the extortion calls and messages made by an individual, who demanded money in exchange for not publishing intimate photographs of the woman on social networks and web pages; authorities managed to gather the necessary evidence and later plan the operation to capture the individual.
Thanks to the information provided by the victim and the investigative work carried out by the Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) - Sucre and units of the Technical Investigation Corps, the capture was carried out on the public way of Las Flores neighborhood, in the municipality of Corozal, where the individual had summoned the woman to receive 250,000 pesos in cash.
At the time that the individual received the money of the extortion, he was captured thanks to the rapid reaction of the military; he tried to flee the place on a motorcycle.
The man, the money and the motorcycle were put into custody of the Sincelejo Attorney General's Office.
