Among those captured there is a woman who would be the partner of one of the ringleaders of this Organized Armed Group.
In a coordinated operation with the National Police, the Colombian Navy captured three alleged members of the GAO Clan del Golfo (Organized Armed Group) and found weapons, ammunition, narcotics, and cash.
The events were reported in the municipality of Apartadó, in the municipality of Nuquí, in Chocó. Troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.23, attached to the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2, and military officers of the National Police arrived in this area aboard the Coast Guard Units, who by means of a search warrant captured inside a house two men, 22 and 49, and a woman, 26.
During the search, three nine-millimeter pistols, three pistol magazines, 321 cartridges of different calibers, three communication radios, seven radio antennas, six battery accumulators, three radio chargers, 923 grams of marijuana and 14 million pesos in cash were found by troops.
It was established that those captured were part of the financial structure of the Clan del Golfo, and that more than a year ago they had been carrying out criminal activities in the municipalities of Arusí and Apartadó. The woman would be the partner of alias El Ñato, financial ringleader of this Organized Armed Group.
Those captured and the materials were taken to the municipality of Bahía Solano to be put into custody of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation.
On the other hand, it was possible to bring to justice a 20-year-old individual, who apparently had been a member of this same organization for a month, and who provided information on the troops.
