'El Diablo' had a valid arrest warrant for the alleged crime of qualified and aggravated theft.
Through joint and coordinated work conducted by troops of the Infantry Battalion No.28 Colombia and the National Police, it was possible to capture in the municipality of Beltrán, Cundinamarca, alias 'El Diablo', one of the department's most wanted criminals, and member of a common crime group that perpetrated the commercialization of narcotic drugs.
According to investigations, alias 'El Diablo', with a low profile, was in charge of looking for civilians apparently with the main objective of selling hallucinogenic substances, which he transported by canoe crossing the Magdalena River, towards the department of Tolima, in order to mislead the authorities. 'El Diablo' was greatly feared in the region because he frequently threatened the inhabitants with a firearm to intimidate them and carry out the extortions.
