The minors were allegedly approached on several occasions by members of the residual Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in the region, who sought through deceit to make the adolescents to link to the criminal structure.
In development of military operations framed in the National Army's Heroes of Freedom Campaign Plan, the Twenty-Sixth Brigade, with troops of the jungle Infantry Battalion No. 50 Luis Acevedo, with the accompaniment of the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, ICBF, and the National Police, prevent the forced recruitment of two minors who were being harassed and persecuted by individuals who are part of the residual GAO who commit crimes in that area of the Colombian Amazon.
The difficult situation was known after the families informed the authorities that the young women were being harassed and pressured by individuals who claimed to be part of the residual GAO, with the aim of linking them to the criminal structure. Immediately, the protocols for the protection of minors were activated, and accompanied by of the ICBF, it was possible to get to the place where the minors were, to start the process of restoring their rights, in addition to guaranteeing their safety and that of their families.
During 2019, 12 minors who had been recruited by these residual structures that commit crimes in the Colombian Amazon were recovered, and their recovery was possible thanks to the continuous work carried out by the Comprehensive Action, through radio spots, visits to educational facilities and the constant coordinated work with the governments, mayors and other guarantor institutions to preserve the rights of children and adolescents. All these efforts have been maintained throughout the year 2020, and with this the objective is to seek to prevent these organized armed groups from recruiting our children.
