During four days, in an infiltration operation, the soldiers of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army found five illegal hideouts that contained abundant war material, military accessories and explosive devices.
In an infiltration operation that took place over four days, the military of the Infantry Battalion No.16 Patriotas, of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, found 9 kilograms of pentolite-type explosive material, which belonged to the Residual organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Sixth Group, structure of the Joint Central Command Adán Izquierdo, in municipalities of the center and north of the department of Tolima.
The military, in development of Operation Jason, in coordination with the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation and Sijin (Judicial Police) of the Tolima Police, in the same way found 17 meters of blue detonating cord, 17 igniters and several links, with which the armed group would commit terrorist acts to hit the critical infrastructure of the State, civil society and the troops.
In the same operation, troops found 5 illegal hideouts in areas of the hamlets Brillante, Totarito, Hoyo Frío and Pastales, in the center and north of the department, which contained war material such as a .50 anti-tank rifle, a UZI machinegun, a lot of weapons, ammunition, and magazines that would be used to carry out terrorist operations against troops and civilians.
In the illegal hideouts there were military accessories such as backpacks, jackets and clothing for the exclusive use of the Military Forces. All the material found was put into custody of the 164th Prosecutor's Office of the Specialized Directorate against Criminal Organizations.
