In compliance with the Bicentenary Campaign Plan “Heroes de la Libertad,” troops of the National Army's Rapid Deployment Force No. 2 (FUDRA 2), attached to the Joint Task Force Hércules, neutralized alias Fulton, a trusted man of the third ringleader of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Oliver Sinisterra, in Las Brisas, in the municipality of Roberto Payán, in th department of Nariño.
According to intelligence information provided by the Colombian Navy’s Pacific Naval Force, five suspected members of that structure were found in the area, so the FUDRA 2 troops who were in the area were deployed, engaging combat and neutralizing the individual.
Alias Fulton was the trusted man of the third ringleader of the residual GAO Oliver Sinisterra, alias Piquiña. He was also in charge of the extortion and kidnapping activities on Las Brisas sector. In the same way, he was accused of making threats to social leaders on the Ispí and Saundé rivers in the municipality of Roberto Payán and he was also the person responsible for planning terrorist operations against the Security forces.
This individual was a member of the Daniel Aldana Mobile Column of the extinct Farc; he belonged to that group for more than 15 years. Later he accepted the reincorporation process and was accredited by the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace. He later left the process, returning to illegality as a member of the residual GAO Oliver Sinisterra.
The urgent acts were carried out by the Criminal Investigation Operative Group (GROIC), later the component of the Colombian Air Force guaranteed the safety of the extraction of the troops and the individual to the municipality of Tumaco. This operation in the same way led to find a pistol with its magazine and the corresponding ammunition.
With this result, the Military Forces reaffirm their commitment to the security of the Pacific of Nariño by acting decisively against the criminal structures that generate bad security conditions and violence in this region of the country.
