It is an important blow against criminal organizations that benefit of the drug trafficking business.
In a territorial control operation carried out over the weekend, troops of the Joint Task Force Marte, in coordination with the Criminal Investigation Operative Group of the National Police, with the support of the National Army Air Assault Aviation Division, found and destroyed a cocaine hydrochloride laboratory in El Juncal in the municipality of Simití, south of Bolívar.
This laboratory had a rigid structure belonging to the Darío Ramírez Castro front of war of the Organized Armed Group, GAO - Eln, a criminal organization that commits crimes in this region. This site of difficult access was found thanks to the intelligence work of the National Army.
In the place troops found of abundant equipment and liquid and solid precursors including 4 “Martians”, 4 microwave ovens, 1 electricity generator, 1 digital scale, 1 electric pump, 400 meters of hose, 150 meters of PVC pipe, 10 volumetric balloons, 15 gas stoves, 3 1,000-liter water storage tanks, 13 gas cylinders, 16 metal pots, 30 bags of sulfur, 300 gallons of DIESEL, 200 gallons of gasoline, 15 bags of lime, 110 gallons of phosphoric acid, 100 gallons of hydrochloric acid, and 135 gallons of acetone.
In this way, a significant impact on the finances of the criminal organization is achieved; the cocaine laboratory would cost 525 million pesos and the individuals would process approximately 120 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride monthly with an average price of 600 million pesos. In this way, the finances of the Darío Ramírez Castro front of war of the organized armed group ELN in southern Bolívar are hit by nearly 1,200 million pesos.
With this overwhelming operational result, the First Division of the National Army continues to demonstrate its commitment to fight drug trafficking in the South of Bolívar, thus seeking to end this problem and guarantee security and tranquility to the inhabitants.
