As soon as the transport was required, the crew of the UH-60 helicopter in Angel configuration left in reaction, to conduct the aeromedical evacuation of a man, who was in a delicate state of health, in a rural area of the municipality of Frontino, in the Western sub region of the department of Antioquia.
The community leader had been apparently wounded by members of Organized Armed Groups. Due to the seriousness of his wounds, he required air transportation to Medellín. During the flight, the patient was monitored and he was given with stable vital signs to a medical center where he received specialized care.
On the ground, National Army troops provided security in the landing area, helping the crew, doctors and nurses of the Air Combat Command No. 5 to carry out the procedures for the extraction of this man.
In this way, the Colombian Air Force remains in total readiness with its aircraft working day and night, reaching places of difficult access to save the lives of those in danger.
