In addition to the drug valued at more than seven million dollars, four people were captured.
In a joint and coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force and the National Police, it was possible to find 191 kilograms of cocaine that were being transported in a rudimentary canoe-type boat over the Canal del Dique waters in Cartagena, in the department of Bolívar.
The drug that belonged to the Organized Armed Group -GAO- Clan del Golfo, was found in the early hours of the morning, when a Rapid Reaction Unit of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station detected in maritime and river control operations, the boat where four individuals were being transported. When the boat was inspected, four plastic boxes containing 191 rectangular packages, communication equipment, a night vision goggles and two metal structures for the installation of drug packages on board big ships were found inside.
The rectangular packages were taken to the pier of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station, where units of the Judicial Police carried out the Homologated Preliminary Initial Test - PIPH, leaving positive result for cocaine. The drug, the four people captured and the materials were put into custody of the authorities.
It is estimated that the approximate price of this shipment on the international black market would be close to $ 7,124,300 million, a figure that thanks to this successful operation by the military and judicial authorities will not reach the finances of this illegal group.
