Two Indigenous people belonging to the Emberá community, were evacuated urgently after being seriously hit by falling into a minefield, near the indigenous reservation Amparradó Alto.
They were taken from the municipality of Dabeiba to the Pablo Tobon Uribe Hospital in Medellin, in order to receive specialized medical assistance according to the severity of the injuries.
During the flight, their vital signs were monitored and they received first aid, with the aim of protecting their lives and delivering them in a stable manner to the medical staff waiting for them at the Hospital's heliport.
After receiving the request of the Government of Antioquia, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter left the Colombian Air Force to carry out the aeromedical evacuation. This aircraft is ready to reach any place in the national territory and save lives. In addition, community support was provided to give security in the area, along with Special Air institution commandos, during the execution of the operation.
