During the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the National Army has provided countless aid packages to the most vulnerable people through the men of Acción Integral (Comprehensive Action).
Soldiers in Guaviare, in collaboration with the department's Secretariat of Government, worked in a coordinated manner to beautify and adapt the Home for the Elderly in the municipality of San José del Guaviare.
With all security measures, the men of the Comprehensive Action and Development Support Battalion No.4 and the Jungle Twenty-Second Brigade, together with the personnel of the provincial Government of Guaviare, organized each space of the home, managing to change the aspect of abandonment in which it was and leave it ready for the use of the elders.
The soldiers delivered items such as a washing machine, refrigerator, power generator, kitchen tools, fans, chairs, tables and others, which were donated by the government for the wellbeing of the 56 elderly in the shelter.
With the transformation of this space, the Governor of the Guaviare thanked the willingness and the commitment to the Army in this kind of activities: “I want to thank the soldiers that have been linked to this important work. We want to continue to support these operations in the benefit of the vulnerable inhabitants of our department,” said Carlos Granados, Secretary of the departmental Government.
